# Troubleshooting

### drv error 2 0

You skipped and/or did not complete the required setup steps. Return to the [setup guide](https://docs.dexa.im/non-dma-products/apex-legends/vertex/setup-guide) and complete all steps.

### FPS Performance-Related Issues

If you have poor FPS performance while in borderless windowed mode, you can set the game to fullscreen.

* change/set the settings in the FRESH menu as desired
* set the game to fullscreen

While in fullscreen, you will be unable to change the settings in the menu. However, some users report that fullscreen performs better.

### Unload Error

Core Isolation is still enabled, blocking the cheat.

### Fatal Error - "Windows Defender is running and cannot be cleaned."

The loader doesn't have proper permissions elevation.

* Download the Turn OFF Windows Vulnerable Driver Blocklist registry file below
  * Extract[^1] the contents of the .ZIP archive to the desktop or a folder
  * Run the .REG file -> click `Yes`
  * Reboot the PC
* Toggle off [memory integrity](windowsdefender://coreisolation/) (Windows Security -> device security -> core isolation)
* Uninstall all third-party [antivirus software](#user-content-fn-2)[^2]
* Uninstall all third-party [anti-cheat software](#user-content-fn-3)[^3]
* Disable Windows Defender using [Sordum Defender Control](https://dexa.im/defender-control) (password: `sordum`)

### A driver cannot load on this device.

The cheat driver cannot access Windows correctly. Disable the driver blocklist to correct this.

### drv error 4 1811 and drv error 4 1810

The system BIOS mode or Windows installation is not UEFI.

* Convert Windows installation to UEFI [using this guide.](https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/convert-an-existing-windows-10-installation-from/aa8c2de3-460b-4a8c-b30b-641405f800d7)
  * If unable to complete the guide, reinstall Windows; see [#bypassing-a-hwid-ban](https://docs.dexa.im/tools-and-software/hardware-anonymizer/testing#bypassing-a-hwid-ban "mention")

You can check your current system BIOS mode:

1. Press the Windows key
2. type `system information`
3. check the `BIOS Mode` value

Most commonly, this error is caused by Riot Vanguard anti-cheat,

* [Uninstall Riot Vanguard](https://support-valorant.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044648213-Uninstalling-and-Disabling-Riot-Vanguard) anti-cheat.
* Disable Windows Defender using [Sordum Defender Control](https://dexa.im/defender-control) (password: `sordum`)
* Uninstall all third-party [antivirus software](#user-content-fn-2)[^2]
* Uninstall all third-party [anti-cheat software](#user-content-fn-3)[^3]

### hwid error and hwid error after using a hardware anonymizer/spoofer

The PC's HWID has reset. The user must request a reset via a support ticket. Please note the HWID reset guidelines below.

Some hardware anonymizers/spoofers will break the PC's HWID. Our anonymizer can preserve or avoid changing the PC's HWID.

If your anonymizer does not have this feature, you will break the PC's HWID.

### Cheat is only accessible when ALT+TAB'ing

User Account Control (UAC) prevents the cheat from interacting correctly with the Windows environment. Disable UAC.

* Download & run the Disable UAC registry file below
  * Extract[^1] the contents of the .ZIP archive to the desktop or a folder
  * Run the .REG file -> click `Yes`
  * Reboot the PC

### Connect to server failed

The DEX-N loader server automatically reboots every six (6) hours.

* Wait 60 seconds and try again

In rare cases, the server will not come online after a reboot. In this case, it will attempt another reboot.

### Blue Screen of Death: KMODE\_EXCEPTION\_NOT\_HANDLED

This stop code, 0x0000001E, results from Windows not correctly interacting with the cheat driver.

  * Extract[^1] the contents of the .ZIP archive to the desktop or a folder
  * Run the .REG file -> click `Yes`
  * Reboot the PC

### Blue Screen of Death: UNEXPECTED\_KERNEL\_MODE\_TRAP

This stop code results from Windows not correctly interacting with the cheat driver & potentially corrupted Windows files.

* Press `Start` -> type `cmd` -> press `ENTER` -> type `DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth` -> press `ENTER`
* type `sfc /scannow` press `ENTER`
* Download the Turn OFF Windows Vulnerable Driver Blocklist registry file below
  * Extract[^1] the contents of the .ZIP archive to the desktop or a folder
  * Run the .REG file -> click `Yes`
  * Reboot the PC

### Loader stuck at fetching module or "slow due to DDoS"

This means the loader is having trouble downloading (fetching) the cheat module. This is typically due to several reasons:

* slow network connection
* the user is too far (high ping) from the loader server
* Windows is out of date
* wrong loader version

You can try the following:

* Install a VPN software such as [NordVPN](https://go.nordvpn.net/SH8k3), select a server in the Netherlands
* [Run Windows Update](ms-settings:windowsupdate-action) and install all the latest updates, rebooting the PC and re-checking for updates each time until no further updates are available
* re-download the loader file from [your order](https://account.dexa.im/orders)
