*** # Resources This page can be used as a quick reference to information for bypassing bans, using spoofers, which VPNs to utilize & more. # Types of Cheats ## Internals Internal cheats run directly inside the game’s process, typically by injecting a DLL that allows them to access and modify game memory, functions, and engine behavior. This gives them advantages like faster response times, access to deeper in-game data, and seamless integration with the game's UI (such as custom in-game menus or radar overlays). They’re often used for features like memory ESP, aimbot with prediction, recoil control, and unlock tools. ### Internal Risk Factors While they were once seen as riskier due to direct interaction with the game, modern anti-cheat systems now monitor both internal and external behavior at the kernel level—making the overall risk virtually equal between the two.

## Externals External game cheats run as separate programs outside the game’s process, without directly injecting into or modifying the game. They typically read game data through memory scanning and use methods like overlay ESPs or external aimbots to assist the player. ### External Risk Factors Modern kernel-level systems like EAC, BattlEye, and Vanguard can detect suspicious memory access patterns, overlays, driver abuse, and input manipulation—techniques often used by external tools. As a result, externals are no longer considered any more or less safer than internals.

## DMA DMA cheats utilize a dedicated hardware device (typically a PCIe card) installed in your PC to read game memory directly, bypassing the CPU and the operating system entirely. Instead of running software on your gaming machine, the card sends raw data to a Second PC, where the cheat logic is processed. This physical separation ensures that no cheat files, drivers, or active processes ever exist on your main gaming rig. They are often paired with a "Fuser" for visual overlays and a hardware mouse spoofer (like a KMBox) to humanize aim assistance. ### DMA Risk Factors While DMA is currently considered the gold standard for security, it is not invisible. The primary risk vector is the hardware signature itself. Advanced anti-cheat systems scan PCIe slots for suspicious devices. If a card uses "Public" or generic firmware, it can be identified and flagged. True safety with DMA relies on using Custom Firmware that properly mimics a legitimate peripheral (such as a standard Network or Wi-Fi card), effectively hiding the device from the anti-cheat's view. #### Learn more about DMA [What is DMA?](/dma/what-is-dma)

# How Bans Work ## Hardware Bans & Modern Anti-cheat Measures Modern anti-cheat software vendors issue hardware bans, leaves trace files, and they track the PC in many other ways. These bans have multiple sophisticated techniques for tracking the user between bans. To fully bypass a ban, you must understand which techniques these anti-cheat vendors deploy to track the PC. ## Ban Enforcement Methods ### Flagged Hardware These bans are flags that automatically target the PC. They are stored on the anti-cheat vendor's servers on the internet in the cloud and cannot be removed. Hardware, such as: * hard drive (HDD), solid state drive (SSD), flash storage (NVME) * network card (NIC) * processor (CPU) * graphics card (GPU), etc. ...all have MAC addresses. These addresses are hard-coded into the device and are not designed to be changed. Thus, this is a consistent and reliable way to track users and issue bans that stick and can be difficult to bypass. This is what is flagged. These are known as hardware or hardware identifier (HWID) bans.

#### How can I remove hardware flags? The quickest and easiest way (takes less than 5 minutes): [use the spoof function of our Spoofer tool](https://dexa.im/products/hardware-spoofer). The cheap way? Research free spoofer tools on the internet. {% hint style="warning" %} **Be advised:** these spoofers are *not* updated by a dedicated, experienced reverse-engineering team who's entire job is solely keeping track of the latest flags issued by modern anti-cheat. You will run into cases where the free spoofer does not spoof some or all of the tracked components. Second, free spoofers can be deployed with malware and viruses. Keep in mind what a spoofer is doing - it is changing *deep* components of your PC. We highly recommend you do not use free spoofer tools. {% endhint %} ### Trace Files Some anti-cheat vendors will also deploy trace (or tracking) files into your system. These files can be embedded deep within the PC's operating system (in the kernel). These files are often difficult to remove and require deep experience in reverse engineering to identify and successfully remove. Additionally, these trace files are ever-changing between updates by the anti-cheat which in most cases are not published to the public.

#### How can I remove all trace files? The quickest and easiest way (takes less than 5 minutes): [use the clean function of our Spoofer tool](https://dexa.im/products/hardware-spoofer). The cheap way? Do a [Clean Windows Install](/learn/resources/windows-10-and-11-guides/clean-windows-install). ### IP address While IP bans are unreliable (most internet service companies issue [dynamic IPs](#user-content-fn-1)[^1]), some anti-cheat vendors opt for this method. Your PC has an address, much like a house. When an anti-cheat vendor bans the IP address, the PC is flagged.
#### How can I bypass IP address bans? Easy, use a [VPN](https://go.nordvpn.net/SH8k3). Or, unplug your modem/router for 5 minutes. {% embed url="" %} ### Ban Enforcement Obfuscation Anti-cheat vendors employ multiple methods to hide what is causing a ban. These include: * delayed bans (hours, days, or even weeks) * ban waves, thousands of users banned at once - often combining two *or more* cheat brands into one ban wave to further confuse cheat developers ## What does a Hardware Spoofer do? As the name suggests, a hardware spoofer tool randomizes PC identifiers like the MAC addresses of the PC's components, SMBIOS identifiers, and so on. Some spoofers, such as ours, deploy other additional mechanisms to help mitigate bans.

## Types of Spoofers Spoofing software comes in two flavors: temporary and permanent. ### Temporary Hardware Spoofers Temporary hardware spoofers, work *temporarily*. Any changes made by the spoofer are reverted to normal when the PC is rebooted. Temporary spoofers are the *least invasive* and *safest way* to spoof. They will not affect the licensing of the software you use, Windows, or the hardware's functionality. We *always* suggest using a temporary spoofer. {% embed url="" %} ### Permanent Spoofers Permanent spoofers are typically a one-time use. These will permanently change the MAC addresses and other identifiers of the PC. The downside of permanent spoofers is that they can cause permanent issues with your hardware. MAC addresses aren't designed to be permanently altered; by doing so, you introduce irreversible changes to your PC's hardware. {% hint style="danger" %} For this reason, *we never recommend* using a permanent spoofer. {% endhint %} ### Account Creation Just make a new account and carry on, right? Not anymore. Anti-cheat tracks this as well. Through a combination of fingerprinting methods we discussed above in addition to: email addresses, passwords, usernames, and so on.
#### So what about buying accounts? Good thought! This is the quickest and easiest way to removed potential fingerprinting vectors between accounts. However, some account sellers use mass account creation methods that essentially lump all of their batch-made accounts into a single pool which is then identified by the anti-cheat and a ban is issued. #### So how do I safely bypass account creation flags? There isn't a quick answer here. The only way to do this is by experience. Find a reputable seller you trust. The account selling market is fast-paced and ever-changing. Finding the right seller is the highest priority. #### What are NFA vs. FA accounts? In the account marketplace, there are two acronyms used to identify accounts: * Full Access (FA) account * you will receive full account credentials * **the good news:** these have a near-zero chance of account loss or seizure by another user, you own the account including recovery information * **the bad news:** FA accounts typically cost 20% to 40% more per account * Non-Full Access (NFA) account * you will receive (typically) only the username and password * **the good news:** the cheapest way to get an account * **the bad news:** little to no control of the account; usually the original owner will recover the account; most sellers will only warranty NFA accounts for 12 hours or not at all ### Where can I buy accounts from trusted sellers? There are a few account selling platforms we suggest: #### Eldorado {% embed url="" %} #### G2G {% embed url="" %} #### Z2U {% embed url="" %} ### I will just make the account myself? If you don't wish to buy accounts - that's cool. However, creating your own accounts requires a significant time investment to do this correctly. We won't outline the *entire* process here. * create a new account using random email addresses * an easy way to do this is to [buy a domain](https://www.namecheap.com/) and use a [wildcard/catchall email address setup](https://www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/310/2214/how-to-set-up-a-catchall-wildcard-email-address/) * verify the phone number using a service like [TextVerified](https://www.textverified.com/) * use a [VPN](https://go.nordvpn.net/SH8k3) to keep your IP address masked * either [clean trace files with our spoofer](https://dexa.im/products/hardware-spoofer) or do a [Clean Windows Install](/learn/resources/windows-10-and-11-guides/clean-windows-install) ## Is there an easier and safer way to cheat? Yes. While it involves a higher up-front cost, DMA or Direct Memory Access cheats are the gold standard for cheating in modern titles utilizing quality anti-cheat softwares like those mentioned in this guide. It uses techniques like HWID tracking, memory scanning, and behavior analysis to identify violations. ### Anybrain [Anybrain](http://anybrain.gg/) is an AI-powered, behavioral anti-cheat system that uses machine learning to analyze player "biometrics" rather than just scanning system files. It builds a unique profile of how a user plays—tracking mouse movements, reaction times, and keypress patterns—to distinguish between human input and software assistance. It is often used as a "silent" layer alongside other anti-cheats to detect subtle aimbots or hardware cheats (like DMA) that mask their files but cannot mask their unnatural input perfection. ### EA Javelin [EA Javelin](https://www.ea.com/news/introducing-ea-javelin-anticheat) is a kernel-level anti-cheat designed to stop modern hacks at the deepest layer of your operating system. While most apps run in "User Mode" with limited permissions, advanced cheats try to hide in the "Kernel" (Ring 0) where the OS itself lives. By operating at this same elite privilege level, Javelin can "see" and block aimbots or wallhacks that attempt to stay invisible to standard security software. Despite its deep access, Javelin is privacy-focused and only active while your game is running. It doesn't scan your personal files or browser history; it strictly monitors for "injection" attempts—where an outside program tries to modify the game's code. It runs at system startup and continuously monitors for unauthorized software, using methods like hardware ID tracking, driver scanning, and behavior analysis. # DMA # Firmware ### 35T vs 100T The 100T is preferred for security because the extra resources allow the firmware to implement features that specifically target and counteract anti-cheat detection methods:
* **More Realistic Emulation:** Anti-cheat software often checks for a card's "digital footprint," like its PCI Configuration Space and how it responds to requests. The 100T has enough logic to run a full, detailed emulation of a common, legitimate device (like a high-end network adapter) that includes complex logic for handling interrupts and error reporting that the anti-cheat expects to see. * **Sophisticated Obfuscation:** The larger chip provides room to implement advanced techniques that randomize or obfuscate the timing and structure of the DMA operations. This prevents simple Signature Matching (detecting known bad firmware) and makes Behavioral Analysis (detecting suspicious activity) much more difficult. * **Future-Proofing:** As anti-cheat technology evolves to scan for more complex characteristics, a larger chip provides headroom for developers to create new, updated firmware that can bypass the latest detection methods without being resource-constrained. While a well-written, highly-optimized firmware on a 35T can achieve a good level of stealth, the 100T offers the best platform for the most complex, customized, and therefore most secure DMA solutions. {% embed url="" %} The reason you hear about detection, especially on the more common 35T models, is because anti-cheat software often works by: * **Signature Matching:** Detecting specific, known firmware patterns (heuristics). If a common 35T card ships with a widely-used firmware, it becomes an easy target for a ban wave. * **Behavioral Analysis:** Monitoring the data and memory access patterns that look unusual for the device being emulated. More complex, custom firmware can better hide these patterns. * **Hardware and Configuration Checks:** Examining the PCIe configuration space and device IDs for known malicious devices. So, while the 35T offers a more budget-friendly entry, the 100T is often favored for its ability to host the more complex and unique firmware designs that are generally considered harder to detect. {% embed url="" %} Shop our custom 1:1 fully emulated firmware for EAC, BE, ACE, VGK and more. {% endembed %} Impact on Firmware (FW) Complexity: Less space means developers are more constrained in how much logic they can implement. To avoid detection, a DMA card's firmware often needs to emulate a standard, legitimate device (like a network or sound card) as closely as possible, which requires a substantial amount of complex logic. On a 35T, the developer may have to strip down the emulation to fit the space, which could leave the firmware with behavioral patterns or digital "signatures" that are easier for anti-cheat software to flag as non-standard or known-malicious. # Windows 10 & 11 Guides # Dual-Boot Windows Some cheats will not work with Windows 11 due to security constraints within the environment. Utilizing a dual-boot with a Windows 10 installation is the easiest solution for effectively using cheats. ## Requirements * a [32GB (or larger) USB flash drive](https://amzn.to/4eSvzqB) * if you do not have a USB flash drive, follow the video guide below * 100GB+ available disk space ## Instructions ### 1. Creating a Volume for Windows 10 * press the `Windows key` + `X` -> select `Disk Management` * shrink the volume * right click on the `C:` drive -> `shrink volume` * for `Enter the amount of space to shrink in MB`, enter `102400` (or larger) -> click `Shrink` ### 2. Creating the USB Installer This guide follows the same process as the official Microsoft guide for using the Media Creation Tool for Windows 10. Reboot the PC and Install Windows * reboot the PC * while the PC is rebooting, and before it enters Windows, press `ESC, F2, F10, F12, or F11` to enter the `Boot Menu` * if the PC boots too quickly or doesn't give the option to enter the `Boot Menu`, you may need to disable `Fast Boot` within BIOS * you can also quickly change this using a [registry file](https://www.elevenforum.com/t/turn-on-or-off-fast-startup-in-windows-11.1212/#Three) {% hint style="info" %} The BIOS menu is different for each motherboard manufacturer. Typically, this setting is found in the boot settings menus. Consider bans a thing of the past - DMA is the gold standard for cheats. ## Why DMA? AAA titles like Fortnite, Apex Legends, ARC Raiders, etc. require a cheat with experienced development teams behind them who can stay on top of anti-cheat measures enforced by anti-cheat software like EAC and Vanguard. No longer can you expect to play with cheats for months or years without being banned at least once. Bypassing anti-cheat is simply becoming increasingly difficult. Using cheat software on the same PC you play the game on exposes you to risk, period. **DMA cheating fixes this by isolating the cheat software to another PC.** If you plan to cheat long-term and rack up hours of playtime under one account - DMA is the solution. ## What is DMA? *Direct Memory Access*, or *DMA* for short: DMA is a unique approach to modern anti-cheat. It gives the ability to use cheat software on a separate PC. For example, using cheats on the gaming PC **without any cheat software running directly on the gaming PC**. The anti-cheat cannot detect what it cannot see - isolating the cheat to a separate PC eliminates this risk. **This means DMA cheats do not get detected.** DMA users frequently play for years (or indefinitely in some cases) without bans. ## What do I need for DMA? DMA requires a few pieces of hardware. At *minimum*, you need: a DMA card and a second PC. For the best DMA experience, you can buy additional hardware - like a fuser and a HID[^1] (aim device). More on that later. For a quick buyer's guide, see [DMA Buyer's Guide](/dma/what-is-dma/dma-buyers-guide) ### Required: DMA Card DMA cards allow you to connect your main, [gaming PC](#user-content-fn-2)[^2] and a [separate PC](#user-content-fn-3)[^3] running cheat software while presenting itself as a normal device on the gaming PC - like a printer or USB device. DMA cards come in three speeds: 35T, 75T, and 100T. Speed is measured by the "T" rating. The higher the number, the faster the card.
What is a DMA "T-rating?" The T-rating on DMA cards refers to the number of logic cells on the FPGA[^4] chip used on the card. Specifically, the number preceding the "T" is a shortened name for the approximate number of logical cells in thousands: * 35T - approximately 33,000 logical cells * 75T - approximately 75,000 logical cells * 100T - approximately 100,000 logical cells The more logical cells available, the more complex the firmware can be on the card. A larger FPGA can often handle more operations in parallel and at a higher overall throughput, which translates to a faster and more responsive experience. In cheating, this means less lag between the game and the information displayed to the user (ESP/wallhacks), which is crucial for competitive play. Additionally, higher logic cell counts offer better detection resistance. More powerful FPGAs can run firmware with better and more complex emulation features, making the card appear more authentic to the anti-cheat software, which is key to long-term detection resistance. **In short, bigger is better. Higher T-ratings mean:** * larger, more complex firmware capabilities * faster read/write speeds/throughput * lower latency/faster response times

What about 35T cards? **We do not recommend 35T cards.** 35T is quickly becoming obsolete both in performance and security.

This will reduce CPU usage as Raycast is computationally intensive but most accurate. * Make sure both PC's refresh rate are the same ## **How to set up 2D In Game Radar Properly:** * Adjust Radar Postion X, Radar Position Y and Radar size so that it fits perfectly over your the radar in game * Go into a custom game and plant the bomb * Go away from the bomb so that the bomb icon on the radar is on the edge of the radar * Adjust Radar scale so that the radar dot for the bomb is aligned with the bomb ## **Aim/Flick/Trigger not working** If your aim or flick is not working then try following these steps to try diagnose and fix the issue: #### **Check if aim device is actually connected and setup in the menu:** * Ensure mouse is connected under 'Mouse tab' #### **Test aim device:** * Test mouse by pressing 'Test mouse movement' and 'Test mouse click' and check if the mouse moves on the main pc * If mouse doesn't move after pressing the test mouse functions then the problem lies on the aim device side #### **If using Makcu, ensure Makcu is running at 115200 baud rate:** * Make needs to be set to 115200 baud rate, you can do this by pressing the left button on the Makcu once * Test mouse movement after using 'Test mouse movement' button under 'Mouse' tab #### **Check Main PC keyboard bitmap:** * Open menu and go to 'Debug' tab, then check the main pc keyboard bitmap, if all numbers in he bitmap are '00', and when you press buttons on your main pc keyboard and the numbers in the bitmap doesnt change, then the chair cannot read the key presses from you main pc so any features that relies on it wont work * You can try fix this by cold booting your main pc, first turn off you main pc and unplug the power cable, then hold power button for 1 minute, then replug back in the power cable and boot main pc * If keyboard bitmap is still all '00' then ensure you are running on the latest windows 10 22H2 or windows 11 24H2 on main pc, install all the latest windows updates on main pc and restart and try again #### **Aim is only enabled for rifles by default:** * Only rifles are enabled for aim by default, to use aim for any other weapon, either disable custom weapons settings for that specific gun or enable custom weapon settings and enable aim for that weapon #### **Check if names are valid:** * A lot of features rely on reading the correct names which rely on getting the right name decryption key * Check all the names under 'Debug' tab, if they are showing as ???? or weird characters, then the name decryption key is incorrect ## How to setup Anti-Flash AntiFlash feature only works if PhysX is selected as the visilbity check type. AntiFlash will be temporarily disabled if your fire key is held down, which means you are shooting and it wont dodge the flash as that would look really suspicous. AntiFlash features requires a decent read speed in order to work properly, if you RPS/Read speed is too slow it wont work properly. Aim device is required, ensure you aim device is connected and working. #### **Follow the guide below to correctly set up the settings to automatically dodge flashes:** * Adjust 'Fire Key' under 'Aim' tab to match the fire key you use in game * Enable 'AntiFlash' under 'AntiFlash' submenu under the 'Misc' tab * Adjust 'Rotation Amount' so that when you press the 'Test Dodge Flash' button, it will do an exact 180 degree turn. * Adjust 'Screen Tolerance', this setting sets the amount of pixels beyond the side and top of the screen so even if flash is just outside your view, it will still dodge. I recommend 200-300 tolerance. * Adjust 'Dodge Angle', this setting controls how much degrees to turn away from the flash to avoid it, I find 120 degrees is a good value to use * Adjust smooth and interval, this controls how fast and fluid the flick will be to avoid the flash, you may change the value and press 'Test Dodge Flash' to see how it performs * Adjust 'Dodge Times' for each type of flash. This setting controls the amount of time to wait after a dodge flash to flick back to its orignal mouse position. Everyones PC will have different read speeds and RPS so it will affect how fast it can detect a flash, adjust these values if you find that you are still getting flashed too early or too late. ### Setting the Aim Key The aim key is the key the user presses to activate the aimbot. By default, both aim keys are M1 or MOUSE1. * choose two different aim keys ### Menu Features This menu has multiple features. #### Aimbot menu * **maximum FOV** -> maximum field of view, AKA the FOV circle in the center of your screen. When pressing the aim key, your crosshairs will move to the closest target within the FOV circle * **smoothing** -> how slowly (higher values) or quickly (lower values) the crosshairs move when pressing the aim key * **humanization** -> adds random jitter, dead zone, and smoothing values when the aim key is pressed; this creates a more human-like behavior * **target hitbox** -> the selected bone (typically referred to as the bone) on the player target you wish to aim at when pressing the aim key * **visible check** -> when pressing the aim key, the aimbot will check if the desired target(s) are visible (occluded behind a wall, ground, object, etc.) * **recoil control** -> controls the x axis and y axis recoil amount; higher values for more control (less recoil), lower values for less control (less recoil) * **scale by distance** -> scales the recoil control by the distance of the target; the farther the target is away, the aimbot will control recoil more effectively * **dead zone** -> how much movement the crosshair will have on the bone (target hitbox); for example, if the player sets the bone to head, the crosshair will move to exactly one (1) pixel on the head hitbox when the aim key is pressed. With dead zone, this pixel will expand to cover a larger area. This means the crosshair will "move" more within the zone (the dead zone, aka the selected bone), which creates more human-like behavior #### Visuals menu

* **enabled** -> enable or disable the visuals (ESP) function entirely * **bounding box** -> a 2D box drawn on the player model * **player name** -> player name - it kinda says it on the box, yeah? * **distance** -> distance to player in meters * **weapon** -> current weapon/item equipped by the player * **ammunition** -> show ammo on visuals (ESP) * **line to target** -> AKA snaplines; shows a line drawn from the user's player to all targets within draw distance (range) * **OOF arrows** -> out-of-field arrows; similar to line to target (snaplines), OOF arrows show a line around the crosshair that helps quickly identify in which direction a target is within range ## Controller Support Controllers are not natively supported within the menu at this time. ### Unlock All {% hint style="danger" %} The `unlock all` feature is considered to be risky. **Use at your own discretion.** Using this feature on a low-level account is likely to result in a high number of player reports. {% endhint %} This feature works by sequentially forcing unlocks when the game is launched. This process occurs just before arriving at the main menu. {% hint style="warning" %} Sometimes, on older PCs, `unlock all` will fail to complete fully. If it fails, close the game and start the injection process again. {% endhint %} Follow these steps to use `Unlock All` 1. Make sure `Unlock All` is toggled on in the menu. It must be toggled on before the game is launched; it may be necessary to restart the game after turning it on. 2. Create/edit the desired loadout(s) 3. In the pre-match lobby, duplicate the loadout(s) by right clicking and selecting "Duplicate" {% hint style="info" %} `Unlock All` is a soft unlock. These steps must be followed for every game session. Operator skins will only unlock in Ranked Multiplayer {% endhint %} #### Unlock all not working, not unlocking * Reboot PC and attempt re-injection again ## Account Restriction Messages NOIR can pull otherwise hidden account statuses from the client. However, **the shadow-ban bypass feature does not remove active shadow-bans** on an account.

The shadow-ban bypass feature is a *proactive* feature. It works by monitoring active reports moving through your Call of Duty client. By this, we mean that when another player reports you, your client will receive & send specific [telemetry data](#user-content-fn-3)[^3] to the Call of Duty servers. Our bypass blocks these requests entirely. This helps mitigate up to 90% of shadow-bans in our internal testing. Additionally, the shadow-ban bypass feature works to mitigate other shadow-ban vectors[^4]. #### Can I still be shadow-banned with this enabled? The short answer is *yes*. It is virtually impossible to prevent *all* shadow bans. The more shadow-bans you receive, the easier it is to receive them. When this happens, the PC is flagged. Learn more about this in [Bans & Shadowbans](/non-dma-products/call-of-duty/bans-and-shadowbans). [^1]: the INSERT key on your keyboard [^2]: field of view [^3]: Telemetry data refers to data points; for example, we collect the IP address in use, how long the software was in use, date & time, hardware information such as OS, game version, etc. [^4]: Vector is a fancy word used in the cheat industry for "data points." Cheats are detected via certain "points" or "features" of them, also called detection vectors. # Troubleshooting ### No server is available to handle your request The loader authentication server request is being blocked by your ISP or a firewall present on the network. * [use a VPN](https://www.tunnelbear.com/download) to complete authentication and then disconnect when finished (or stay connected if you desire)

### **Game crashes or** [**BSoD**](#user-content-fn-1)[^1] * Return to the [Setup Guide](/non-dma-products/call-of-duty/charlie/setup-guide) and follow **all** steps * Typically, game crashes are related to the cheat's inability to access memory properly. For this, you will need to check if **memory integrity** is toggled off in [Setup Guide](/non-dma-products/call-of-duty/charlie/setup-guide#setup-guide) {% hint style="warning" %} Some users have reported that **memory integrity** settings will re-enable after a PC reboot. {% endhint %} ### **Menu & Injection Issues** If you are having issues with the menu opening or injecting, ensure you have uninstalled all antivirus software, disabled Windows Defender (some users report Windows Defender auto-restarting after a reboot), and have the following drivers downloaded and up to date: * Microsoft [Visual C++ Redistributables](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170#latest-microsoft-visual-c-redistributable-version) * Microsoft [.NET framework](https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download) (v8.0) & [.NET framework](https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework/thank-you/net481-web-installer) (v4.8.1) * Microsoft [DirectX End-User Runtimes](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35) ## Failed to connect When injecting, the user receives this error: > Check your network and disable any conflicting software such as a firewall or VPN.

Something on your PC or network is blocking our authentication server. This error is typically a software or firewall issue. * uninstall all third-party [VPN software](#user-content-fn-2)[^2] * uninstall all third-party [firewall software](#user-content-fn-3)[^3] * uninstall all third-party [networking software](#user-content-fn-4)[^4] Sometimes, this is caused by your router or modem configuration. * login to your router and check the firewall settings or any network security settings, parental controls, etc. that may be filtering or blocking traffic * optionally, you can whitelist or "DMZ" your PC in your router (we do not recommend leaving your PC in a DMZ, ever - only do this to test!) Lastly, this could be your ISP blocking our auth servers. * Install a VPN software such as [NordVPN](https://go.nordvpn.net/SH8k3) If all the above solutions do not work, reinstall Windows. ## DirectX Error code 0x887A005 This error is complex, as it is caused by multiple issues. There is no known single fix for this error.

In order and one-by-one, try the following resolution steps: #### Most likely to resolve this error: * Disable DLSS Frame Generation, or, * [Create a new user](ms-settings:otherusers) in Windows #### Other steps to try: * Return to the [Setup Guide](/non-dma-products/call-of-duty/charlie/setup-guide#setup-guide) and follow **all** steps * Press start -> type `%appdata%` -> go up a directory to `C:\Users\[username]\AppData`, navigate to the `Local` folder -> look for folders with `random lowercase letters` -> delete them * In this same directory, Local, look for a folder named `loader` -> delete the folder {% hint style="info" %} When running the CHARLIE cheat, it generates a random folder name in the `Local` directory and dumps the loader executable, configuration files, and other necessary files to run the cheat. Sometimes, when the cheat injects, it can hook incorrectly into the kernel of your PC and corrupt itself. By deleting it, you effectively clear this temporary directory to allow the cheat to run "fresh." {% endhint %} * Press start -> type `documents` -> navigate to the `Call of Duty` directory -> delete the `players` folder * Follow the steps in [#menu-and-injection-issues](#menu-and-injection-issues "mention") * Press start -> type `windows update` -> check for Windows updates, also click `advanced options` and check for optional updates -> install all updates * If using an NVIDIA GPU, press start -> type `geforce experience` -> click drivers -> in the top right, click the three dots -> choose `studio driver` -> install these drivers * Reboot PC {% hint style="info" %} In NVIDIA GeForce, the Studio drivers are considered "production-ready" drivers. This means NVIDIA has validated and tested these drivers to be stable. {% endhint %} This video may also help troubleshoot this DirectX error: {% embed url="" %} Video guide for resolving the DirectX error. {% endembed %} [^1]: The "blue screen of death" Windows stops (freezes) and gives an error before rebooting the PC. [^2]: Any VPN providers such as NordVPN, OpenVPN, etc. [^3]: Software such as: Norton 360, BitDefender, McAfee, etc. [^4]: Software such as "TCP optimizers," "packet enhancers," "ping boosters," etc. # Bans & Shadowbans ## Introduction For a detailed guide on bans, see [How Bans Work](/learn/resources/bans) Call of Duty issues two different types of account restrictions: * account ban * "shadow" ban In this guide, we will cover both types of bans and how to mitigate them. ## Shadow-Bans A "shadow-ban" is an account restriction that impacts the account's ability to matchmake and utilize online services. The account can still be logged into but cannot join games or servers and play online. When checking your account status, you will see: > Your account is in a limited matchmaking state due to a potential violation. Shadow-bans are temporary and automatically lift in about one week. Shadow-bans can occur for a few different reasons: * Flagged hardware, see - [How Bans Work](/learn/resources/bans) * Player reports (typically 10+ reports will shadow ban an account) * Playstyle (stats-heavy matches such as high KDA[^1]) {% hint style="warning" %} Multiple shadow-bans will lead to a soft-hardware ban. This means, if you receive multiple shadow-bans on any given PC, it will be flagged and future accounts will be shadow-banned. {% endhint %}
